Matassa Romanissa Casot Cotes Catalanes 2016
South-African born New Zealander Tom Lubbe moved to France to champion Rousillon, a lesser known region where he saw great potential. His foresight became this ultra pure red that speaks of its roots. Intense aromatics of violet, rosemary, and earth precede heaping mouthfuls of punchy red fruit and silky tannin. The vines are incredibly low yielding, and over 130 years old, which imparts impossible concentration, density, and vibrancy to this beauty.
This wine couldn't be replicated anywhere else, and is a real testament to the land and Tom’s dedication to simple, conscious methods. Farmed biodynamically with hand harvested fruit: Grenache Gris and Carignan.
